I believe that every time a gun is fired, it should be cleaned and oiled. This will prevent problems in the future & insure the pistol doesn't rust.

I'm new at guns. I'm considering owning a hangun and this one in particular but not before I know how to properly clean and maintain and shoot it. I just have one question. How often should this handgun be cleaned? Is it after a certain amount of rounds are fired? Great video by the way.

I do not recommend dry firing any gun excessively. Excessive dry firing will cause damage to the firing pin and the breech. A S&W revolver, will extrude metal around the firing pin hole in the frame if excessively dry fired. Snap caps cushion the firing pin fall and are a good investment to avoid damage to the pistol from excessive dry firing.

Thanks for the helpful video. Why do you recommend not dry-firing the Bersa? With my other center fires (I never dry-fire a rimfire) of modern manufacture, I regularly dry-fire to work on sight picture/trigger control. It's my understanding that modern firing pins are not damaged by dry-firing.
